Solar Options

NRG Clean Power Offers a Broad Range of Solar Options for Our Residential Customers

Photovoltaic Installation

The most common type of residential solar panel installation we do at NRG Clean Power is known as photovoltaic installation – also called PV installation. Photovoltaic cells, which make up the solar panels, convert sunlight to electricity. However, this electricity is direct current (DC).  You need an inverter to transform DC into AC (alternating current), which is what supplies the outlets in your house through your existing electrical panel. We are a full service solar energy company, and will be able to design a complete system that will power your home, for less than you are paying to rent electricity month after month with the utility company. With SolarWorld solar panels you get the maximum amount of output, 25%!

Hot Water Systems

The sun is hot, so why not use the sun’s heat to produce hot water? Logical, right? That’s why we also offer our residential customers hot water systems.

Here at NRG Clean Power, we occasionally get residential customers who ask about non-PV installations– which use solar thermal collectors instead of photovoltaic panels. Solar thermal energy is then processed with additional equipment to heat water for your house and your swimming pool (which cuts down your gas bill), heat the air for your central heating and even cool air for your air conditioner. You may even be able to get incentive rebates from your gas company for solar thermal technology that displaces traditional gas-powered uses like central heating and hot water heaters.

Solar Attic Fans

Solar attic fans work by using a whole house fan which can actually substitute for an air conditioner most of the year in most climates. Solar attic fans combined with ceiling fans and other circulating fans provide acceptable summer comfort for many families, even in hot weather. In addition to solar attic fans, the ducts of your central heating and cooling system can be modified to provide whole house cooling.
